Bursary

Recognising the unique pressures that the pandemic has placed on our individual research capacities, and in the spirit of encouraging the research work of the Asia Dialogues to remain a priority, we have the consent from our Microsoft sponsors to offer 3 research bursaries to dialogue participants.  The intention of the bursaries is to defray some research-related expenses attaching to the projects you have selected to be part of the dialogue research output.  Appreciating that applying for research support is often an added work burden we intend to keep the conditions o these small grants simple.  They are as follows:

  • The grant award will be competitive.
  • Three bursaries are funded at $5000 US each.
  • Applications for the grants will close on 30 August.  Applications should be submitted to the CAIDG administrator (SIOW Junhao jhsiow [at] smu.edu.sg ) by close of business on that day.
  • Applications should comprise 2 A4 pages using single spacing and 11pt cambria typeface.
  • The applications should contain;
    • Name and email address of the participant
    • Project title
    • Short abstract describing the project’s research objectives
    • Key words (5)
    • Brief description of the research methodology
    • Indication of which governance principle or challenge the research is primarily addressing
    • Indication of the stage at which the research has currently reached
    • Timetable of main output points from now till the project is completed (no later than 31 March 2021)
    • Policy implications of the research
