06.02.20 || Healthcare AI for a Rapidly Ageing Singapore

Singapore, like many other Asian and European countries, is in demographic trouble. With a rapidly ageing population that is living longer, there is an increasing need to provide additional medical services beyond the status quo. Yesterday, CAIDG and SG Innovate co-hosted a panel discussion on the challenges that the country faces as it embarks on deploying AI in its healthcare sector. Sunita Kannan, moderated the discussion among Professor Dov Greenbaum, Julien Willème, and Dr Tan Jit Seng.

In their discussion, panellists touched on the emerging challenges of combining clinical data with less structured lifestyle data, the difficulties of ensuring model robustness across demographic groups, and the need to re-negotiate standards of medical care as AI tools get more sophisticated.
