CAIDG's director, Prof Mark Findlay and Prof Urs Gasser from the Berkman Klein Institute for the Internet and Society, spoke at a webinar organised the School of Law this morning.
Prof Gasser introduced his reflections on the impact of COVID-19 (and its control) for lawyers and the law. He spoke of challenges to be faced as law participates in moving to the ‘new normal’ and possibilities for law in seeing the protection of constitutional legality, social bonds, data integrity and keeping technology and the law in balance. Prof Findlay added some specific implications for law and legal services in Singapore (public and private) and focused on the role that law and lawyers can play as positive agents for change in these troubled times.
